Why all Generations like to hang out on Facebook?

Who would ever think that a website named “Facebook” would be adopted by so many Individuals the world over, of all different generations, to meet up and communicate with each other. You can not only catch up with long lost family, but you can socialize with the world, joining groups and finding new friends. There are no age barriers for Facebook. It attracts anyone from 10 years of age up to 80 or more. Yes, we have to face the fact that people under 18 years of age are members of this website.

Why does the older generation like Facebook?
When Facebook first came out the older generation were saying how stupid it was, being so public, having your name on the internet. Now they have all joined in on the fun.

For one thing, your friends and family are posting photos and updates of their everyday lives. This is very handy when you live across the other side of the world. You can practically spy on your friends and family, looking at photos and reading all their chatting activities. This is a great way to keep up with the family gossip.

Why does the younger generation like Facebook?
Even though you must be 13 years of age to sign up for a Facebook account, the younger generation has found its way into this website. The games that are associated with Facebook are attracting all generations. People my age are going on to Facebook to play Farmville, and to join groups with people of similar interests.

The younger generation plays cafe world, fish world, sorority life, mafia gangs, and more.. This is what they spend most of their time doing on Facebook, along with taking quizzes and surveys.

Disadvantages To Facebook For All Generations:
Unfortunately there are some disadvantages to Facebook, just like any other social networking website. Because Facebook has become so popular it has become a target for spammers, viruses, and sneaky tactics. Scammers have realized the value in peoples contact lists and will try anything to get them.

The other disadvantage is that people are not totally aware of what they are sharing. What can strangers see when they are viewing your profile?

Despite the disadvantages, individuals of all generations like to use the Internet to socialize, especially through Facebook. I was one of those sceptical people that have now joined in. Can you believe that many people are member of the same website as their children and their grandparents? For that reason, it is just good that there is a social networking website that has a focus on all generations.
